Mehfil Ghazals By Pankaj Udhas

Mehfil is a album of Pankaj Udhas in which he sings songs of various tunes. Most the songs are based on  nasha shayari and are feel more beautiful if you have a glass of spirit.
The theme of this album is Pankaj Udhas singing in a soothing voice with his best sur n tal for the maikhana people. The nasha of Ghazal is much more than that of liquor. The santoor, violin and table is best played in all of these songs and they make a place in your heart. Pankaj Udhas has sung all these songs so freely in natural way without much of the modern musical instruments still they are the best songs forever.

Nayaab Ghazals By Pankaj Udhas

 My favorite Ghazals Album of Pankaj Udhas which I heard for first time and I think its evergreen.

Pankaj Udhas: The Ghazal King

Pankaj Udhas a melodious Ghazal singer and is known as the Ghazal King of India. He was born on 17th May 1951 in Jetpur, Gujarat. Manhar Udhas his eldest brother is a playback singer for Bollywood Movies and second elder brother Nirmal Udhas also a Ghazal singer who started singing in the family. Pankaj Udhas family moved to Mumbai and he studied at St. Xavier's College. He did his Bachelor of Science degree there. Later he started practicing his singing in bars. Pankaj Udhas learned Urdu as he got interest in singing Ghazals. He first sing in a film Kamna in 1972. Later he moved to Canada and performed some small shows in the U.S.

After that the path of  Ghazal singing started in his life. He knew that he is good in his performance and the first Ghazal album released was 'Aahat' in 1980. Later after a big hit sale for the album many other albums were released by him. Later he started his career as singer in Bollywood movies by singing for movie 'Naam' in 1986 which spread his melodious voice accross the world. He also sing a melodious duet song with the nightingale of India Lata Mangeshkar for the movie Ghayal in 1990. The song was 'Mahiye Teri Kasam' which was a hit song. Later he sung one more duet song with Sadhana Sargam for the movie 'Mohra'. The song 'Na Kajre Ki Dhar' was much famous and the movie too.

In 2006 Pankaj Udhas was awarded Padmashree for completing his Silver Jubilee in Ghazals singing career.
He also sung in many concerts not only in India but also all over the World. People were addicted to his Ghazals and the Nasha in his voice. Pankaj Udhas 'Live in Concert' album was much famous and gain a lot of popularity in those days.
